Served as a hospital ship in WW2 in the Far East
When I was providing individual ship histories a woman wrote to me from Brazil – having emigrated from the Far East via Cape Town on this ship. She said they were woken by her mother screaming and she had scratch marks on her neck. She said she was attacked by a man in bandages. They turned on the cabin lights immediately and there was no one else in the cabin apart from her family. She was intrigued when I told her the ship spent WW2 as a hospital ship.
